The Truth about God’s TRUTH (Mini-book By Jill Twinn)

John 8:31,32

`If you abide in My word (hold fast to My teachings and live in accordance with them), you are truly My disciples. And you will know the Truth, and the Truth will set you free. (AMP)

Truth is absolute. Truth doesn’t yield. Truth doesn’t change. God’s Truth is very different from human truth. Human truth doesn’t set us free, most often it just helps the person telling it. How often have we heard, “I thought it would be better if you knew the truth about this or that”, and all it did was cause even more pain and hurt. That’s because it’s not Truth it’s just facts that we are being told. Truth goes beyond facts. Facts are subject to Truth. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not suggesting we start lying to each other – John 8:44tells us that satan is the father of lies. We need to be honest with each other but honesty is just human truth, which is a step in the right direction.

Other facts that people tend to believe, thinking that they are Truth, are ones like sickness and poverty. The facts may be that your body is hurting or there’s no money to pay the bills but the Truth is that Jesus died for our sickness and poverty.

2 Corinthians 8:9 For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though He was rich, yet for your sakes He became poor, that you through His poverty might become rich.(NKJV)

1 Peter 2:24 who Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live for righteousness—by whose stripes you were healed.(NKJV)

3 John 2 Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers.(NKJV)

It is much easier to just agree with the facts because facts scream a lot louder than the Word of God does. God’s Word will be quiet – until it starts coming out of our mouths.

John 17:17 says “Sanctify them (purify, consecrate, separate them for Yourself, make them holy) by Truth; Your Word is Truth.” (AMP)It is only God’s Truth – the Truth of God’s Word and the Anointing upon that Word that sets us free and sanctifies or separates us from bondage. Truth brings life – God’s Word is alive. It is full of life – it has the supernatural life within it to fulfil the promises of God in our lives. And 2 Corinthians 1:20 tells us that God’s promises are Yes and Amen!!!!!!!

          Romans 3:3,4

3 For what if some did not believe? Will their unbelief make the faithfulness of God without effect? 4 Certainly not! Indeed, let God be true but every man a liar. As it is written: “That You may be justified in Your words, And may overcome when You are judged.” (NKJV)

God is True. I choose to believe God’s Word and not my circumstances. We must constantly meditate on God’s Word, because it’s that Word that develops faith in our hearts. In fact, we cannot deepen our faith in God without deepening our trust in His Word. Let God be found true – if we believe in His Word, it will come to pass.

Hebrews 4:11,12

11 Let us therefore be diligent to enter that rest, lest anyone fall according to the same example of disobedience.12 For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.(NKJV)

Although we work and put forth effort to learn that Word, to spend time in it, speak it and obey it – it is actually the Word itself that brings about the changes in our lives. That’s what the writer of Hebrews means when he said we “..be diligent to enter that rest..”. We rest on the Word, knowing it will accomplish what God has promised.

He is faithful and just. He is true to His Word and His promises. He cannot and will not lie.

Numbers 23:19 tells us, “God is not a man, that He should tell or act a lie, neither the son of man that He should feel repentance or compunction (for what He has promised). Has He said and shall He not do it? Or has he spoken and shall He not make it good?” (AMP)

Jesus was not free because He didn’t sin. He didn’t sin because He was free. He knew the Truth of God’s Word in His life. It is so easy, so simple yet satan has had us chasing our tails for decades giving us rules, regulations and as a friend said to me not long ago, all you seem to hear are the 4, 5, 8 or even 10 step plans to freedom. But the simple truth is that the way to freedom is in knowing the Truth – knowing God – knowing His Word.

The Truth of God’s Word

2 Tim 2:20 If we are faithless (do not believe and are untrue to Him), He remains true (faithful to His Word and His righteous character), for He cannot deny Himself. (AMP)

Even when we trip up and fall down, make mistakes or blow it God’s Word stands firm.

1 Peter 1:24,25 For all flesh (mankind) is like grass, and all its glory (honor) like (the) flower of grass. The grass withers and the flower drops off. But the Word of the Lord (divine instruction, the Gospel) endures forever. And this Word is the good news which was preached to you. (AMP)

Luke 1:37 For with God nothing is ever impossible and no word from God shall be without power or impossible of fulfillment. (AMP)

1 Peter 2:6 Behold, I am laying in Zion a chosen (honored), precious chief Cornerstone, and he who believes in Him (who adheres to, trusts in, and relies on Him) shall never be disappointed or put to shame. (AMP)

People will always disappoint us but God’s Word, God’s Truth is that He shall never disappoint us.

Psalm 119:89 Forever, O Lord, Your word is settled in heaven (stands firm as the heavens). (AMP)

Matt 24:35 Sky and earth will pass away, but My words will not pass away. (AMP)

John 1:1 In the beginning (before all time) was the Word (Christ), and the Word was with God, and the Word was God Himself. (AMP)

The Word is Jesus and Jesus is the Truth – it is that Truth, that Jesus, that Word that sets us free and that alone.

Acts 19:20 Thus the Word of the Lord (concerning the attainment through Christ of eternal salvation in the kingdom of God) grew and spread and intensified, prevailing mightily. (AMP)

We have the very power and Anointing of God Himself moving in our reborn spirit. We have the Word or Truth of God at our fingertips. The more we fill our heart with that Word or Truth the more we act on it, and speak it out in faith, the more freely that anointing can function through us. So we need to stop stalling with our excuses! Get moving! Grab our Bibles and take our stand on it.

God’s Word (Truth) prevails!!!!!!! Jesus gave His life so we could walk in the same Truth and Freedom that He walked in. Let it not be wasted …..Let’s jump in over our heads and GO FOR IT!!!!!!!!!! We have the Truth on our side and living inside of us so nothing can defeat us.
