Like a Flood
As you can see this MinistrEmail has come very late in the month and so I have combined it with October’s. I don’t like to just ‘pull something together’ for the sake of it, and we have had an excellent month ministering both in Australia and in the USA, which has made things quite busy.
And so, I do have something in my heart to minister to you. It is something that the Lord was speaking to me about while I was in Texas at the Spirit of Prayer conference recently. While in the meetings the Lord ministered through Patsy Cameneti, (who is a great teacher on prayer and I am privileged to say a good friend) about the Lord moving things out of the way from your life like a flood sweeps even large objects away. In her message she showed a video from floods that happened here in Australia, and we watched as we saw cars just picked up and taken down stream.
Since that session some things have ben stirring in my spirit and I heard the Lord say something quite specific. This is what I heard: “It’s not a river flowing from you, unless it’s in abundance from in you. Flow from the inside out to join with the outward manifestations of God.” Now, I knew the Lord was referring to a scripture that I know well in John chapter seven.
John 7:38-39 (AMP) He who believes in Me [who cleaves to and trusts in and relies on Me] as the Scripture has said, From his innermost being shall flow [continuously] springs and rivers of living water. 39 But He was speaking here of the Spirit, Whom those who believed (trusted, had faith) in Him were afterward to receive. For the [Holy] Spirit had not yet been given, because Jesus was not yet glorified (raised to honor).
The Holy Spirit within us produces a ‘flow’ that results in a river of living water. It is interesting to note that as I write this we are just a few days away from the exact day that Jesus spoke these words.
John 7:37 (AMP) Now on the final and most important day of the Feast, Jesus stood, and He cried in a loud voice, If any man is thirsty, let him come to Me and drink!
The feast being spoken of here is the Feast of Tabernacles or ‘Sukkot’ on Hebrew. In 2015 on the Gregorian calendar this is Sunday 4th to Monday 5th of October. Traditionally on this time of the feast some priests are assigned to bring some water from the pool of Siloam to the temple to pour out as a water libation offering. This water is known as ‘hayim mayim’ or Living Water. As this water is being carried past the crowds, “Jesus cried in a loud voice” declaring that faith in Him would lead a person to have this Living Water in them and by the power of the Holy Spirit flow from them!
This life giving flow has many powerful manifestations but when the Lord spoke to me I could see something very clearly. This flow is also like a flood that nothing can hold back, nothing can resist. Lets look again at what I believe the Lord said to me: “It’s not a river flowing from you, unless it’s in abundance from in you. Flow from the inside out to join with the outward manifestations of God.” Overflow by definition means that there is more than can be contained. It’s not enough to just try and be full, that can lead to a self-centered religion, but overflow goes beyond you and effects the surrounding around you.
Then the Lord reminded me of a scripture from Genesis chapter seven;
Genesis 7:11 (AMP) In the year 600 of Noah’s life, in the seventeenth day of the second month, that same day all the fountains of the great deep were broken up and burst forth, and the windows and floodgates of the heavens were opened. Can you see something here? The great flood of Noah wasn’t just the rain but also the fountains of the deep!
What was the purpose of that flood? Things had gotten so bad on the earth and the seed of mankind so corrupted that only one family was left through which any hope of salvation for mankind could come. The flood, swept every demonic blockage and opposition to the saving plan of God away.
Now notice that it was the combination of the fountains of the deep and the floodgates of heaven that were opened. As the Lord said to me, “…flow from the inside out to JOIN with the outward manifestations of God.”
Many times believers are crying out to God for revival, or awakening, myself included, however many are looking for an outward manifestation of the Holy Spirit from Heaven alone. Jesus told us that from our “innermost being” would flow rivers. It’s not one or the other; it’s both to truly create a flood. A flood that will result in “the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the LORD as the waters cover the sea.” (Habakkuk 2:14)
When we yield to the Holy Spirit within by believing on Jesus, by faith, by trusting completely in Him, when we are willing to let Him ‘flow’, a flood tide will rise. Combine that with His heavenly outpouring and we have a flood that will sweep every demonic thing opposing you right out of the way! Now look at this scripture with me;
Isaiah 28:2-6 Behold, the Lord has a mighty and strong one, Like a tempest of hail and a destroying storm, Like a flood of mighty waters overflowing, Who will bring them down to the earth with His hand. 3 The crown of pride, the drunkards of Ephraim, Will be trampled underfoot; 4 And the glorious beauty is a fading flower Which is at the head of the verdant valley, Like the first fruit before the summer, Which an observer sees; He eats it up while it is still in his hand. 5 In that day the LORD of hosts will be For a crown of glory and a diadem of beauty To the remnant of His people, 6 For a spirit of justice to him who sits in judgment, And for strength to those who turn back the battle at the gate.
Yes there is a context to this verse in Isaiah concerning judgment on Ephraim and Jerusalem, but see the pattern. The flood of God sweeps away what opposes prior to the “day that the LORD of hosts will be For a crown of glory….”
Folks there are glorious days ahead! The Lord is coming for a glorious church and I believe we are in a flow, a flood, an outpouring from within the body of Christ mixed with manifestations, demonstrations and visitations of God.
Drink of Him, let the Holy Spirit be the flow of life coming through you. Let the Living Waters of Jesus be in full flood, and as God moves on the earth we will see things swept out of the way. Sickness swept away, poverty swept away, opposition to the things the Lord has told you to do, swept out of the way! Mountains that seamed insurmountable picked up and cast into the sea. Halleluiah! That’s worth shouting about!!!
Love and blessings,
